Hello everyone. It is hard to believe it is the last week of April already. We hope you have had the chance to enjoy the sunny weather and that you are doing well. Below are this week's lessons. Please remember to do them in an order and pace that works well for your family. We have also included some videos about our letters this week (Qu and W) that feature words that start with these letters. We have also included a video featuring a Lego version of our Prime Minister sharing a message to children about staying home and staying healthy during this time. Let us know if you have any questions and have a good week! Say hello to your child for us. We miss them so much! Welcome back from spring break! We hope you had a restful and fun time with your family. We continue to miss you so much and hope you all continue to feel well. Below are this week's lessons. We have also included a YouTube video of our Jolly Phonics letter songs. Your child will be familiar with most of these songs. Please note Kindergarten students were not formally introduced to letter blends (ex. ai, or). These songs are a great way to practice letter sounds (and their actions) with your child! You can have your child practice their letter sounds while watching the video, or you can play the video without them watching it and they can guess which letter song is playing based on the sounds they hear. Please feel free to email Miss Andreachuk or Mrs. Newman if you have any questions. Give your child a hug for us! This week is the week before our spring/Easter break. We have included some Easter songs for students to listen, sing, and dance along to. We have also included some Easter stories read aloud for students to enjoy. Since our chicks just hatched, we also included a video with chicken facts for children. These videos are included below in this post. New lessons will not be sent out during spring break next week (April 13-16). Please enjoy this time with your family. It would be a great idea to play outside safely and enjoy the spring weather! We will post new lessons on Monday, April 20th. This week has two important days. Monday, April 6th is the two year anniversary of the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus crash. People are encouraged to wear hockey/sports jerseys to honour the lives lost. Tuesday, April 7th is Green Shirt Day. Green Shirt Day is inspired by Logan Boulet from Lethbridge. He died as a result of his injuries from the bus crash. He donated his organs so 6 lives could live on. People are encouraged to wear green shirts on this day to honour Logan's life and to encourage conversation about organ donation. Please feel free to email us or post on Facebook your Green Shirt Day pictures. Thank you. We hope you are doing well. As always, feel free to email Miss Andreachuk or Mrs. Newman if you have questions.
